Data Collection, Stratification, and Presentation
The client is an Insurance Group and holding company for several property and casualty insurance companies, which together constitute one of the largest insurance businesses in the United States. It provides a wide range of property and casualty products and services to individuals, families, and businesses and distributes its products through a select group of independent agents and brokers. Together with its agents, the company offers specialized coverage for small and mid-sized businesses, as well as insurance protection for homes, automobiles, and other personal items. Through its international member company it underwrites business in London in several major insurance and reinsurance classes, including marine, property and energy.
The client requested a workshop format that blended content with case studies and tasks that both challenged and built upon the skills of the delegates. Given that this would be an ‘out of comfort zone’ experience for all/most attendees a range of facilitation skills would be required that put the emphasis on relationship building and stakeholder management.
AMS partnered with the client to create an initial plan and runway which was then developed into a two day workshop, utilizing real life case studies from the business and aligning delivery to build simplified executive summaries and presentations that carried the high level messages, backed up by validated data.
The finished product was modified in partnership throughout the workshop to enhance group learning based on individuals’ requirements around the broad subject areas. The flexibility of the program allowed the learning to be targeted to the exact needs of the audience and for individual and business benefits to be maximized. The workshop delivered a number of simplified assessment and presentation models, aligning and identifying key data components to messaging and presentation techniques.
The simplified concepts presented, explored and practiced during the workshop were endorsed by attendees and business sponsors and were considered suitable for immediate endorsement and integration within the business. The soft skills enhanced individuals’ ability to both influence and then manage stakeholder interaction to mutual benefit.
