Biography
John has over 30 years of global experience and focuses on strategy development, business planning, business transformation, restructurings, change management, innovation, executive team facilitation, organizational effectiveness, agile, executive presentations, digital transformation, talent management and sales-force effectiveness. Most recently, he spent 14 years at Prudential Financial Inc. where he was Vice President, Head of Business Transformation for Prudential’s International Insurance (PII) group, which was the company’s largest business unit representing $20B in revenue operating across 15 countries with 15K employees.

John was responsible for multiple strategic initiatives such as the development and execution of PII’s multi-year Emerging Markets Growth Strategy in high-growth markets such as Brazil, China, India, and Indonesia. He also managed large-scale change programs such as launching PII’s long-term growth innovation program and developing its new decision-making operating model. John also worked in Japan on a two-year assignment leading several complex transformation programs on culture and organizational change. He has worked closely with different insurance companies in Africa such as in Ghana and Kenya where he partnered with CEOs and their leadership teams in areas such as strategy clarification and execution.
John brings deep expertise in advising and coaching C-suite leaders, particularly those navigating complex, fast-evolving business environments. His work spans Fortune 100 executives across core functions like operations, finance, risk, and, critically, technology. What sets John apart is not only his strategic guidance on business growth and profitability, but his ability to help technically oriented leaders translate their insights into business-aligned decisions and actionable outcomes.
A compelling example: John partnered with the CIO of a global investment management group, advising through a major restructuring. By aligning leadership strategy with operational effectiveness, his coaching led to measurable improvement in employee engagement across 14 of 15 key dimensions, demonstrating not just influence, but impact.
John’s ability to bridge technical depth and business fluency was further showcased through his recent engagement with the CEO of a top-tier African insurance company. There, he facilitated multi-unit strategy development, fueling continued momentum and growth. Whether guiding senior leaders new to their roles or helping technology teams integrate into broader organizational strategy, John’s coaching consistently empowers high-performing executives to elevate their influence and deliver results that matter.
Before PII, John led Prudential’s internal consulting group focused on delivering organizational effectiveness and change management solutions across Prudential’s US and International businesses. He and his team led large-scale change programs such as strategy development and alignment, restructurings, operating model development and organizational design for multiple groups such as Global Investment Management, Group Insurance and Risk Management.
John also spent over 18 years working at external consulting and financial services companies such as Merrill Lynch, Bank of America, Chase and Salomon Brothers. John was the Senior Vice President of Talent Management at Merrill Lynch / Bank of America where he was responsible for talent strategies, leadership development and succession planning for 11,000 employees in the US, Europe and Asia.
John was also Senior Consultant at the Hay Group/Korn Ferry, a global management consulting firm, where he specialized in improving sales force performance and productivity for Fortune 500 companies. In this capacity John worked with technical and non-technical audiences building productivity and efficiency. His impact resulted in high-performance elevation of skills and organizations that ranged from interpersonal to presentations and beyond.
Prior to Hay, John worked at Salomon Brothers in both its Strategy Consulting team and Mergers and Acquisitions group where he worked on new business revenue-generating opportunities and restructuring programs.
John graduated from Cornell University with a B.A. in Economics. He also holds an MBA in Finance and International Business Management from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
