Phillip R. Walker

Phillip focuses on enhancing organizational effectiveness and employee performance through trust-based leadership and strategic development. With decades of experience in management consulting, he has cultivated a deep understanding of leadership dynamics and the nuances of team collaboration. He applies his expertise to help businesses and government entities implement strategies that foster engagement, strengthen communication, and optimize performance. Phillip has designed, developed and delivered training content for numerous programs for a broad spectrum of industries, working at all levels of the organization, including executive management. Training has covered a wide range of soft skills, tools, and techniques required for extraordinary leadership. Courses include influence skills, emotional intelligence, communication skills, personal skills, and 21st century leadership. Phillip has delivered training in United Kingdom, China, Japan, and throughout North America.

In addition, he has extensive executive coaching and team building experience. Phillip has undertaken numerous leadership roles in scientific and engineering work environments. He completed a 17-year career with NASA Caltech Jet Propulsion Laboratory, as a training manager and organizational psychologist. He was responsible for collecting and stratifying data in support of training needs analysis, curriculum development, hiring of instructors, scheduling of courses, budget management, catalog development, and team building.

As Director of Diversity, Senior Executive Services, at NASA Glenn Research Center, Phillip provided leadership on all diversity aspects for a civil service workforce exceeding 3,000 employees. He was social architect for the creation of the Office of Diversity. This consisted of strategic planning, managing day-to-day program operations, development of metrics, and addressing organizational issues and concerns. He developed and implemented a culture change project, Model Workplace Program, recognized by Vice-President Al Gore as “Exemplary Status" under his Reinventing Government Initiative. Phillip managed and facilitated numerous senior executive team meetings. He has keen insight into unconscious bias impeding organization performance.

Phillip holds a Ph.D. and is certified in Organization & Systems Development from the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland, he is certified in Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® and was mentored by Dr. Jack Gibb, organization development pioneer and leader, in completion of doctoral degree.
