Jeff Stempien, PMP, PMI-RMP, PMI-ACP, CBAP, CSM, CSPO, is a Managing Principal – Practice Advisor at Advanced Management Services, Inc. (AMS), a Global Management Consulting firm, practicing in the areas of Organizational Development Consulting, Professional Development Training, and Performance Coaching. AMS has been serving Fortune 100/500, Middle-Market, Emerging High-Growth, and Government clients since 1994.

As a Managing Principal – Practice Advisor, Jeff’s focus is evaluation, training/consulting, and implementation of program/project management processes, business analysis, agile methodology, leadership, and communications best practices. His experience includes quality systems implementation, program management, planning and installation of program/project development methods. In addition, he is experienced in portfolio management, requirements management, product ownership, risk/opportunity management, integrated master scheduling, total quality management, supply chain/logistics optimization, contract management, earned value management, and integrated change control.

Jeff had over 20 years of experience as a General Manager and Senior Business Development Director for CSX Transportation and Director of European Supply Chain for W.R. Grace providing him with a rich and diverse background in the successful management of domestic and international corporate and product line strategic, critical, and highly visible operations and technical development projects. He has recently developed university-level PM/Agile curriculum for, General Electric, Accenture, Booze Allen, SES, Americom, Hughes, Lockheed Martin, Pentagon Joint Staff, and BAE Systems. Additionally Jeff has a deep background working with Government Agencies, Municipalities, and State Level cohorts within the PM/BA, and Agile skill groups.

Working as a partner with these organizations he developed tailored project/program management, Agile, and development tools and techniques for application of advanced project management training/process including requirements management/control, risk/opportunity management, schedule and budget management, business analysis, Agile, team development, leadership/communications skills, critical thinking, stakeholder management, and functional maturity models.

He is also an expert in integrating customer-specific procedures with global principles and standards (such as the PMBOK®, APMBOK, PRINCE2, IEEE, BABOK, SEI-CMMI, and Scrum) to deliver application-based training customized to needs and complexity of each organization’s programs and technical customers.

Jeff is a faculty member at Georgetown University and has worked with numerous Federal agencies including Pentagon Joint Staff, DHS, TSA, FBI, CSA, NSA, FAA, DOJ, GSA, NIH, DOD, NOAA, and all of the military branches. He is currently a member of the College of Performance Management and the Earned Value Community of Practice, Project Management Institute, International Institute of Business Analysis, and Association of Project Management, UK.
