Leadership Excellence Learning Track
Project Briefing
We helped a national membership retailer design a Leadership Excellence Learning Track to prepare newly promoted regional leaders for expanded responsibility, strategic execution, and consistent leadership behavior. The program created a practical leadership model, structured bootcamp experience, and development roadmap to help leaders move from tactical management to broader regional leadership.
Client
A national membership retailer seeking to strengthen leadership consistency, prepare regional leaders for expanded responsibility, and create a more formal leadership development structure.
Challenge
The organization did not have a formal leadership development structure for leaders moving into regional roles. Many newly promoted leaders had grown through the organization without formal management or leadership training and were now shifting from managing a single location to overseeing multiple locations across a region.
The challenge was to help leaders let go of tactical habits, adopt a more strategic management discipline, and break down silos across regions. The organization needed a program that created shared leadership language, practical tools, and stronger cross-regional collaboration.
Solution
AMS partnered with HR talent management and senior leaders to assess current leadership practices against best-in-class competencies and behavioral characteristics. Interviews with general managers, regional directors, and senior ambassadors informed an assessment model that was reviewed and validated by client stakeholders.
AMS then developed a three-day Regional Director Bootcamp aligned to the organization’s leadership model. The program focused on strategic thinking, critical analysis, problem-solving, creating alignment, operating strategically, leading leaders, and communicating effectively. The final roadmap included course objectives, pre-work, application exercises, participant toolboxes, action plans, and ambassador guidelines.
Benefit
Participants reported significant gains in leadership capability and identified clear actions to apply after the program. Leaders began using practical tools to think more strategically, ask better questions, communicate more effectively, adapt their thinking styles, and support one another as a leadership team.
The program helped establish a consistent leadership development approach for regional leaders. It strengthened strategic discipline, improved peer collaboration, and gave the organization a practical model for preparing leaders to succeed in broader enterprise roles.
Extend the Outcome
The results achieved through AMS engagements demonstrate how disciplined methodology, enterprise‑grade analytics, and leadership‑ready insight translate into measurable performance improvement. Each briefing reflects value realized in real organizations and showcases patterns that apply across industries, workforce models, and operating environments. By extending these proven approaches into related AMS solutions, leaders can scale capability, strengthen alignment, and accelerate transformation with the same rigor that drives impact in our client work. If your team is ready to build on this momentum, AMS offers the partnership and tools to turn demonstrated success into sustained enterprise performance.
