Hanna Brakey
Biography
Hanna Brakey is a seasoned leadership development strategist and certified leadership coach with more than 15 years of experience helping organizations strengthen leadership capability, improve performance, and create development experiences that translate strategy into practical action. Her work at AMS focuses on leadership development strategy, executive coaching, facilitation, new leader transitions, emotional intelligence, feedback, coaching skills, and the design of high-impact learning experiences that help leaders grow with clarity and confidence.
Across financial services and biotech, Hanna has designed leadership development experiences for leaders at every stage of their careers. She brings a practical ability to connect organizational needs with the personal journeys of the people inside those organizations, creating programs that employees can understand, embrace, and make their own. Her approach combines strategic insight with a coaching mindset, grounded in curiosity, reflection, and a belief that meaningful development happens when people are supported in discovering their own path forward.
At JPMorgan Chase, Hanna focused on senior leader development, strengthening executive presence, self-confidence, coaching, and feedback skills among established and emerging executives. She is especially proud of seeing leaders she supported advance into significant roles, including heads of country and business for a leading global bank. This work reflects Hanna’s ability to help leaders build the presence, confidence, and interpersonal capability needed to lead at greater levels of enterprise responsibility.
At Illumina, Hanna focused on new leader transitions and the capabilities leaders need to succeed in a fast-moving biotech environment. She built and scaled enterprise programs, including THRIVE, which reached more than 800 leaders, and developed innovative experiences incorporating AI and emerging approaches to learning. Her work helped leaders navigate complexity, build confidence in new roles, and apply leadership skills in ways that supported both individual growth and organizational performance.
As a coach, Hanna creates space for people to think deeply, identify their own insights, and turn reflection into meaningful action. She believes individuals are more empowered and more committed when they play an active role in defining their own path forward. Whether coaching leaders one-on-one or facilitating group development experiences, Hanna helps people build self-awareness, strengthen communication, and lead with greater intention.
A central theme in Hanna’s work is the intersection of technology and human development. She believes that as AI and emerging technologies continue to reshape work, distinctly human capabilities become even more essential. Emotional intelligence, connection, discernment, self-awareness, and the ability to engage others with clarity are not secondary leadership skills; they are critical capabilities for helping people and organizations adapt, perform, and thrive.
At the core of Hanna’s leadership philosophy is the belief that development must be both deeply human and highly practical. She is committed to creating experiences that help leaders understand themselves, communicate more effectively, coach others with greater confidence, and translate insight into day-to-day leadership behaviors. Her work helps bridge the gap between knowing what effective leadership looks like and practicing it consistently in the moments that matter.
Hanna is certified through an ICF-accredited coaching school and holds certifications in MBTI and Hogan. Her work spans leadership development strategy, executive coaching, facilitation, new leader transition, and the design of development experiences that create lasting change for leaders, teams, and organizations.
